The 3rd Balkan Physics Olympiad – BPO2021 will be held\u00a0online<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a025 September 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>

The BPO2021 will be organized by the\u00a0Union of Physicists in Bulgaria<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Based on an initiative of the Balkan Physics Union Council taken in 2018, the first edition of a new competition in Physics addressed to the high school students was launched in 2019: the\u00a0Balkan Physics Olympiad \u2013 BPO<\/strong>.\u00a0 The first edition was held in Thessaloniki (Greece) in July 2019, the second one was held in Craiova (Romania) 2020, but was held ONLINE, organized by The University of Craiova (Romania).<\/p>

The 3<\/em><\/strong>rd<\/sup><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0BPO contest will be held ONLINE<\/span>, September 25, 2021.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

The main organizer will be\u00a0The Union of Physicist in Bulgaria, Bulgaria. This edition of BPO will be also held under the auspices of the\u00a0Balkan Physical Union<\/strong>\u00a0(BPU) and the\u00a0European Physical Society\u00a0<\/strong>(EPS).<\/p>

DETAILS ON THE ONLINE ORGANIZATION<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

  • Taking into account the situation generated by the COVID pandemic, the 2021 edition of BPO will be an online competition.<\/li>
  • Each country will be represented by a team composed by up to 4 high school students, born after January 1st<\/sup>, 2004.<\/li>
  • The BPU member countries can officially participate in the contest: Albania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Greece, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Turkey. Other countries may also be invited as guest countries.<\/li>
  • The contest will consist in a unique test with 4 problems.<\/li><\/ul>

    PLEASE CONSIDER SOME IMPORTANT DATES:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

    • June 27th<\/sup>, 2021 \u2013Scientific committee to be announced.<\/li>
    • July 9th<\/sup>, 2021 \u2013 Societies to announce if they will take part in BPO3.<\/li>
    • August 27th<\/sup>, 2021 \u2013 Team leaders and deputy leaders to be announced.<\/li>
